I apologize for the lack of content on this little RPG blog over the past few months and wanted to provide a personal update on where I’m at, along with what you can look forward to here on the +1 RPG Blog. The first big question has to be:
Did I survive 2020?
Yes, I did! Though, like many others, it came with some challenges. The pandemic hit the company I worked for pretty hard, and, in the blink of an eye, I went house hunting with my wife, to both of us being furloughed. Ultimately, cuts were made and I found myself out of a job in the middle of a pandemic. As you can imagine, I continued to write every day, however it took the form of resumes and cover letters rather than fun filled articles of imaginary monsters. Thankfully, I was only out of work for a few months, and have since started at a fantastic new company. Of course, this meant many hours of training and becoming comfortable in a new role. Obviously, this is why the blog had to sit on the back burner for the later half of last year. However, I am happy to say that everything is going well now. My wife and I purchased our first home just like we planned, albeit slightly delayed. Which means I have a new space for my RPG books!
What to Expect in 2021
Now that 2021 is here, life appears to be getting back to a new sense of normal. For me, this means writing again. That being said, I’m excited to announce that you will once again see new table top RPG content on this little slice of the internet. Though, my new career change does require more time and travel, so it will be important to pace myself a bit. Previously, I would aim for 2-3 articles a week, however, that just doesn’t seem realistic at the moment. So, we are going to try for 1 article a week or possibly every other week. Though, I’m going to stay away from the daily news style articles, since you can find them on a verity of other sites, but rather, focus on more researched articles like book reviews and artist highlights. Personally, the artist spotlights were my favorite to write. So, there maybe less total articles, but I hope the value or quality of those articles increases. Keep in mind, this is just a fun hobby for a dude to share his love of RPGs.
Thank you all for checking in, and I hope to talk to you soon!
